I kept one toman emas till more than 24inches. at some point it will morph and when adult looks exactly like micropeltes to me. just as aggressive too.

Did some online research and found most Channa will turn mean overnight and might slaughter the entire tank. 😮
Only pleuro and Maruliodes have some degree of comm success. Might go that route instead of getting a micropeltes. |

Have a 16incher in comm....crazy lines on body but ya looks like normal micro....so I agree at the price of a Toman emas...feel kinda cheated LOL.
