Default Simple Tank Setup

Today went to Sunpets Aquarium in Jalan Kayu to get few bags of ADA Amazonia Soil and went Seaview grab some others equipment.

Decided to take some pictures to show on how i setup with cheap products.

Here's how I always start up my tank.

1st Day of tank setup (31/8/14)

1: Add in a thin layer of soil and some sponge filter. I'm using aircon to chill all my tanks so I don't need any canister to link up to the chiller.

2: Fill up my tanks with di water.

3: Add in a bit of Anti Chlorine.

4: After fill up water add in liquid bacteria.

That's all for my setup.

Will let it run till water clear and add plants in tanks.

When I going to add shrimp into tank will adjust the TDS to the range i wanted. As Di water TDS value is very low.

This tank is not even 1-2cm just a thin layer only. I have different height for soil but setup procedure is still the same.

Thank you Bro Bai for sharing your setup! Very informative and educational.. Still got a lot more to learn from you!

where did you buy that liquid bacteria from? can it also be used for existing setup tank that is currently running?

do you put any minerals or bacteria at the base of your tank before you put the soil? Do you feel it is necessary to put those?
