Nymphs in tank
I just found 2 nymphs in my tank
One is about 2-3cm, the other about 1-2cm. I am afraid they are the ones that are lowering the population of my cherry shrimp. How do I check for more of these from the tank? Do they burrow into the gravel ? No picture because I squished them against the fish tank glass and cleaned them out. |

If can take out the shrimps and put in another tank, then can put in a fish that eat up the nymphs, after that take out the fish and put back the shrimps.
If cannot take out the shrimps, just have to look out for more nymphs and kill them until no more. No easy way out. The nymphs usually come in with the plants that has eggs attached which later hatch and you get the unwelcome nymphs! |

I cant take the shrimps out.
So I cant use the fish eating the nymph idea I guess I need to keep looking out. I found these 2 nymphs because they were hiding under the nana plant wood. Do they burrow into the gravel? Or do they run around on top of the gravel? I have taken out most of the decorations in the tank. Only left with moss ball and floating anacharis. |

Bro
The best way is to remove everything in tank... Catch all the shrimp u have in a breeding box/net... If you have Dw or plants in it...remove it. Dried the Dw totally and keep the plants at a temp holding tank. This is the only way to remove and get rid if them. |

You can never be sure. There could be hidden on in there even you removed the 2 spotted one. Best is to remove everything in side like plants filter sponge and stuffs leaving nothing for them to hide and then check again.

I absolutely hate nymphs. They are so ugly, and they kill shrimps. I am actually quite phobic of them, so I don't anyhow add to my tank new plants.
