Angry HELP PLEASE! Monster Fish Setup Destroyed!!

I posted this topic early yesterday within this forum:

Quote:
Currently i have a 150 gallon growout for my baby monsters im going to purchase (working on building an indoor pond which should be complete this spring). Anyways in the 150 i have a ph of 7.0, temp of 76-78f, great filtration, low lighting and a fine sand for a substrate with a few artificial plants here and there. Currently i have a 7 or 8 inch silver arowana in the aquarium with a 2 inch feather fin upside down catfish (surprisingly hasn't been eaten). Heres what im wanting to add to the aquarium: 1 6 inch african spotted lungfish and two aba aba knife fish at 3 inches.

I am well aware of the potential size of these fish and can most certainly provide room for them, this current tank will only be their home for a few months. Right now for food i have floating arowana sticks and sinking carnivore pellets by hikari with frozen krill and earth worms. Anything else i need to get these guys? Should i add more hiding spots? Any special advice from those who have kept these fish?

Thanks in advance!
I received the new fish this morning and placed them in the 150 gallon aquarium with the silver arowana and all was well. About four hours later i had a few friends over helping move some new furniture i had purchased, i left the living room for only a few minutes and heard a loud shatter!! I ran inside the house and stepped in water.. My living room was flooded and the tank was demolished, apparently a grandfather clock fell on the aquarium and ripped out the front of the aquarium flooding a good portion of the house and spilling my fish onto the floor! I quickly grabbed a cooler near by and managed to get some of the remaining water from the aquarium into the cooler and thankfully got all of the fish into the cooler just in time, no fish were lost.

To put things lightly i am outraged! Not only am i going to spend thousands on home repairs i also have my fish to worry about. I connected a air pump for the fish in the cooler while i thought about my options, due to me spending what money i had on new furniture and bills I am not going to be able to by a new aquarium of any decent size for at least the next three weeks. I realized the only option i really had was to grab a 15 gallon clear rubber maid container i have (about 16 inched wide, 20 long and maybe 9 inches high), added some fine white sand, a few plants and decor for hiding, heater, filter and an air pump and stone for extra oxygen. I cut holes in the lid to the rubber maid for lighting and filtration and there are no holes for the fish to jump out of.

Someone please offer me some advice, the fish are doing very well even feeding surprisingly. The water is cycled btw, i have plenty stocked up for emergencies and cleaning but are my fish going to be able to make it in these cramped conditions? Ive seen worse on monsterfishkeepers but i feel horrible about these guys, im going to do daily water changes and reduce feeding but whats going to happen to my fish in the next three weeks???

pics coming soon

Hey really sorry to hear what happened and i can only imagine how pissed you are.

Well the bright side is that no fish were harmed and they're ok.

The best thing to do is if you can contact any lfs that you are familiar with and ask them to house the fish for your temporarily. Be prepared to offer a 'fish-sitting' fee.

Otherwise you could do the same with your friends. Most likely you'll have to split your comm up for now so its easier to find them housing.

I.E: Its easier to find someone who can and is willing to house a single silver aro because chances of he/her having a spare tank is higher than having a tank huge enough or 2 aba abas 2 silvers and other fishes.

All the best and hope your fishes are fine!!!

You may go to LFS or in AF to get 5ft FGT to put your fishes temporary till all the pending issues had been resolved.

I believed you loved all your fishes and want to keep them. So giving away or place into another AF bros, I think you will have difficulties making such decision.

For rental of FGT, you may approach SG Bros to help.

I live in the states, not sure what that is but i dont have a LFS or any kind of aquarium store... 15 gallon wont house these fish for the time being? The aro is the only one really out and about, the knifes and the lung stay in their "caves". The fish are feeding on the bright side and the water parameters and perfect so far...

it definitely will not hold out for very long, but if you do daily water change, u might be able to get away with it for awhile.

In the mean time, get your tank fixed!

Give more aeration to the fishes. Do what you usually do, I believed they will be fine. Worry is always there as they are all something to us, hobbyist.
