Brand of chiller make a difference coz efficiency is generally better for the more expensive ones....

Horsepowers of the chiller play a part in your electrical bill too.

Let's say you run a chiller at 25 degrees for a 2ft tank... e bill, I guess would be about $30/mth, or maybe around $40/mth if you are running a 3ft tank.

Get the right chiller for e right tank (based on water volume). The thing is, how u keep your tank cool, so that the chiller doesn't kick in so often. Eg, placing it in e cooler part of your home, or wrapping e hose with insulation materials (eg those used for aircon pipes).

In case you buy 2nd hand, make sure you drain e chiller... I would ensure e chiller wasn't used on marine tank previously, in case salt deposit in e chiller.

Read up more on e sticky on topics regarding shrimps and CRS. Lots avail!

Sorry bro jeff1980 to hijack your thread.

Hi Bro WiNd.feNg, i also intend to run my hailea 130A (previously running on my 1ft plus tank) on my new 2ft tank. Want to check with you do you encounter frequent kick in and long kick out when you were running this setup previously?

Base on what you mention i can only think of this

1) pump might be undersize
2) chiller underpower for 2ft.
3) 130A should be able to maintain 2ft did u mod with a external probe should improve.
