Hi bros,

Anyone know where to get those coleman or rubbermaid ice pack? Planning to use them to bring down my tank temp as I don't have a chiller..

Bro there has been alot of discussion on reusable ice pack. not very suitable for shrimps as it does not cool the water down evenly. Not very ideal.

You do not have to buy the reusable ice pack you really want to do it this way. Use an empty evian or ice mountain water bottle will be fine.

I tried, but the effect is not very great. Place 1 1.5l water bottle in, within 10mins melt already. The temp only max down by 1 deg

For me, i use 2 500ML bottle filled 90% water. Put in freezer, use alternately. Works well for me. Tied a string to it n hang to a hook(in case it suddenly sinks)

Cheap DIY Idea

The electric bill for sure will go up. Shrimp may not survive under hot and cold variation.

For me I used 2 500ml bottles, freeze them and "stick" to the side of my tank to help cool down the tank..I have a fan running as well and so far I have managed to maintain the temp at ard 24-25 on avg..
