Dolphin MC790 Review
Tried this mini chiller and it could make the water temperature to around 22 while my surrounding temperature is around 28.
i am using this for my 1.5FT tank with 400l/hr pump running thru it. so far quite happy with the set, just that the sound of fan is quite loud to my liking during the night time. Think i have to set longer pipe and pull it out to the balcony with my koi pond. as for the heat that is generated, still quite bearable. The size of the power supply is as big as the chiller itself. if place the item ontop of each other, the whole size is slighly smaller then CL150 The only thing now is to have a timer and set when to start and off only i guess. JUst one thing to check, can we set the timer to kick in like an interval hr of time? say like it will run for 3 hrs and off 2 hrs and run 3 hrs and off 2 hrs...? pai sei huh, never use timer b4 so ask. |

With the timer, you can set different interval time but for your mini chiller, I believe you have to let it run 24/7. Anyone using this chiller, please correct me if i am wrong.

sorry I mean you have to let it run constantly to achieve low temperature of your tank but your pub bill will be increased significantly.

Bro setting a timer will cause your tank temp to fluctuate up and down might not be good. Why not u see whether u can mod it by adding a external control.

so far have been running this mini chiller for around 4 days and i am quite happy with it. always manage to get temperature for around 23.5 to 25. been playing around with the timer thing to get this readings.
but i guess during the hot season, i will not have such reading anymore. think my heart tell me to go for chiller. Anyone has any idea if Hailea HS-28A is good? Anyone use b4? |

just go for Hailea 150A. it can chill water from 50-400 litres. you will possibly upgrade your tank size in the near future.
