hi any one run a uv light for fliter is good for shimp?????

Won't say it's bad. As UV-C sterilize the water in there and have algae control.

Actually algae may not be that bad for the shrimps. Sometimes i will scrape of huge pieces of the slimy algae from my other tanks and put in my shrimp tank, all of them eat the algae.

UV lights for filter is to kill bypassing algae spores mainly, why would you want to use that where as shrimp owners wanted algae ( not too much of cox ) in tank as alternative food source.

Clear water is not necessary the best water for shrimps. I would prefer to make the water to be a bit yellow, a bit green and even abit cloudy, most of the time, this type of water breed shrimps in large number and shrimps grow fastest.
