how my poison for CRS started
June 2009, my very first tank (five plan 'S' size" which my gf gives to me when i told her i wanted to do a "small" planted tank to play with. omg~ look at the temperature. no fan no chiller and using a internal 200lph filter. i will spent most of the time on net to do research on everything related shrimps/planted tanks when i stumble on CRS. i was getting more and more addicted on them and bought 10pc of A grades with 2 blue notes in Aug, 2009 . (yes, it cost that much then ) then my 2nd tank is curve front 40x28x28 tank for rock scape. failed with hair grass dying and algae outbreak. with fan/ GEX 'S' HOF my 3rd tank is a 2 x 1 x 1.5 feet ( unfortunately, i lost the photos already ) . for this time, i got a CL-280 and Ehiem 2222. specially for CRS breeding. used GEX soil but simply can't keep the pH lower than 7. my 4th tank is this 3 x 1.5 x 1.5 is a plug and play CRS tank which i bought over from a fellow bro in another forum. using CL450 and jet-3688 canister. this is where my CRS started to breed well for me. will be back for more -poison alert- |

Next i went all the way to a shrimp rack system with DIY overflow pipe + undergravel system.
here's the new JET- 3688, Atman CF1200 and newly furbish Teco TR15 connected to my shrimp rack. Water flow has increase significantly. The Jet - 3688 is a dummy ( i'm a sucker for more media ) The chiller is move up on top of a 2 feet spare rack and its place in a position where the exhaust is facing out the window. the two canister is at the bottom of the 2 feet rack my schematic of my water flow is : ->JET-3688 ->Atman CF1200 ->Teco TR15 ->top tank ->middle tank ->bottom tank this is now decommed due to some work commitment. really love the time spent brain storming and setting this 2 feet 3 tier rack. -some of the shrimps i got before- -how my DIY over flow system works- video 1 , video 2 -my US fissiden bogwood tree- |

schematic :- top tank over flow to middle tank > middle tank over flow to bottom tank > bottom tank to canister 1 > canister 1 to canister 2 (dummy) > canister 2 (dummy) to chiller > chiller to top tank. you can check out the video that i have post regarding the diy over flow pipes to link all 3 tanks together. |
