Tiger dream coming true..
Hi dear fellow tiger lovers. I have been keeping mini tigers since they were 1" for 9months. Now they are about 3-4" but were unstable for most of the 9 months. Been trying out and searching ways to stablise them so finally i think im seeing some results. this are some info about them last week.
16x ITs 3-6"(some were recently bought) all unstable 4x CLs 4" 2x SS 7" All fish diet on Mp only. Kept in 5x2.5x1.5 all black oyama, with 40% Wc once a week. Some DWs, no gravel or any sand. Light is 5 ft Dbl FL pink tubes on only when viewing or feeding. Ph always about 6.5-6.8. Last week i started doing some changes over 5days with 10% wc everyday. Day 1 - took off 1 tube from the light so only 1 tube is on for 24hrs. Day 2 - added in baking soda slowly to increase ph to 7.2. Day 3 - added gravel size of 5-8mm color same as lapid sand. Day 4 - added in 6x 4" BP and 1x 4" FF Day 5 - changed the light bulb to dim warm white and continue to switch on for 24hrs. Today - almost all ITs have become lighter in colour. Before today, they were totally black. More than half of them have become stable now. Will this stability be permanent? Keeping my fingers cross. Later in the mrng im getting feeders to try on as they have nvr had them before. Hope all goes well and that they become even more kim kim like i always wanted. Bro, personally i think the problem may lies in the " 5x2.5x1.5 all black oyama" ...IT more likely to be unstable under black surrounding.....

Congratualation Bro, if only we know the secret (if there any actually?) of making It 24x7 stable, then there is no need for ST laiow. Personally, I think each IT is born like that, can change a little only. If they are affected the same way like tank background, ph, salinity level, then why is it in the same tank some are stable some are not. It means each IT adapt or like different environment I would think right? The secret would be to try out, if those like your environment and become stable, keep them, those not sell them (but it would also mean when goes into another hobby tank, can be stable as the setup is different). My 2 cent only. Having said that, I had came across few Bro (maybe they are smart or what) that goes around buying unstable (usually very cheap or cheaper) IT and try them out in their tank, some revert they become kim kim in their tank, for those I congratulate them and admire their guy to try. Some bought 24x7 It goes home after few weeks turn orh lu lu...so sad.
