Default Newbie want to start shirmp tank

Hello all bros and sis have always wanted to keep shirmp , need lots of advice and basically basics needs for shrimps Hope all of you can enlighten me i want to keep sakura shrimps .

you need a tank, filter, soil( ada.gex ) plants(moss or any low requirement plants) then cycle your tank for about a mth... throw a few shrimp in and test if the water is ready.. if no shrimp die within the next few weeks.. you are ready to get more shrimps!! good luck!!!

can list some of the low requirement plants? coz i'm cycling my tank now to rear shrimps too.. thanks in advance

try java, taiwan, whipping moss... they are very low requirement.. just chuck a bunch of it in.. they will spread like crazy

icic.. i saw from some LFS selling those java, taiwan moss at ard 8 dollars.. reasonable?

you're saying loose packed or on driftwood,meshes or rocks?

its all around that price... try to get those which are already tied onto driftwood! easier...

oh okok.. wats the market for it btw? coz i'm on quite a tight budget..
as i'm using a 1.5ft tank and i bought 1 packet of the red color gex sand.. which is like no enuff to cover the base of the tank.. btw is it normal for the filter to suck some of the sand up?
