Default Cycling of new tank

I have a noob question to ask. Does the size of the filter affects the time required for cycling a new tank? Suppose for a 1ft cube tank, will cycling with a small eden 501 takes longer than an ehiem 2028? Will the volume of medias also affect?
Asking because thinking of choosing a filter for a cube tank. Seems like a small eden is already sufficient for shrimps keeping in a 1ft cube, but somehow have the impression that oversized filter may have advantage. One of which may be a shorter cycling process.
All advise welcome. Thanks

Eden 501 took me 3 weeks to stablise the 1.5 feet tank. But my tank is heavily planted with a couple drops of fertiliser and gex soil and regularly minimum WC. Anyway is just based on guts feeling when I see whether my plants are healthy or not.

put it this way, does it make u(compare to BB) grow faster if u stay in a 3 room flat(small filter) compare to a big landed house(big filter)..

Hmmm... actually I have not stayed in a big landed house before and am not sure if I'll grow faster, but I am quite sure I'll be alot happier (and even happier if servants also included)

I dun think Ehiem 2028 is suitable for 1ft tank cos flowrate too high is 1050L/H if i not wrong.

Yes I agree with you, the flowrate may be too strong for 1ft tank . Just wondering about the impact of filter size with respect to cycling efficiency

I took 2 filters (eheim classic and 2228) to cycle the 3ft tank for 2 months before I can start putting in any shrimps

May I know how you determine that 2 months was required/sufficient? Is it based on ammonia level measured or good previous experience?

I had previously cycled a 2ft tank with 2028 some time back and in my case, I found that the ammonia level managed to attain zero in about 1 week's time and sustained zero level consistency from then on. I assumed cycling was completed at that point
This time, I am think of using just an Eden for a 1ft tank, so wondering if the result will be a much longer time required as flowrate and amount of medias are greatly reduced.
