What are these snails?
What are the snails in the background called?
Are they shrimp friendly? Will they crawl out of the tank? |

these are horned nerite snails and they are shrimp friendly and very tolerant to different water conditions.. have about 6 of them for a year now and they are doing great..
they do come out of the water from time to time but i think they do so in their natural habitat as well as they will be back into the water by themselves minutes later hope this helps |

1 thing to add is that they require brackish water to breed, therefore they will not overpopulate your shrimp tank

Good.... i was afraid it might not be shrimp friendly....
Also happy to hear that it will not crawl out of the tank.... Good addition to a shrimp tank to tackle algae on the glass.... and beautify the tank.... is it harmful to moss then? |

Yup, these are horned nerite snails. One thing good about them is that they are not easily breed compared to other snails. I kept a pair of horned nerite snails for a year and they do not breed at all. They are friendly to shrimps too.
