Default What are these snails?

What are the snails in the background called?

Are they shrimp friendly?

Will they crawl out of the tank?

these are horned nerite snails and they are shrimp friendly and very tolerant to different water conditions.. have about 6 of them for a year now and they are doing great..

they do come out of the water from time to time but i think they do so in their natural habitat as well as they will be back into the water by themselves minutes later

hope this helps

1 thing to add is that they require brackish water to breed, therefore they will not overpopulate your shrimp tank

Good.... i was afraid it might not be shrimp friendly....

Also happy to hear that it will not crawl out of the tank....

Good addition to a shrimp tank to tackle algae on the glass.... and beautify the tank.... is it harmful to moss then?

Yup, these are horned nerite snails. One thing good about them is that they are not easily breed compared to other snails. I kept a pair of horned nerite snails for a year and they do not breed at all. They are friendly to shrimps too.
