My little brother's common terrapins (RES)

Hi guys,

Nothing special, decided to snap some shots of my little brother's new gifts because I found them to be pretty cute. Everyone at home seems to be mesmerized by them, but we had to release a couple of them due to lack of rearing space.

Now he brings them out to bask in the sun for around an hour per day. I hope he'll continue to shower attention on them even when they grow much larger and less adorable in the future.

Very cute but I hope you will not release anymore in the future because Singapore is already over-run by terrapins and they do destroy our local fauna.

Maybe give them up for adoption instead

Those were the exact words I said to my little brother as well.

By the way, just to clarify, when I said we 'had to release a couple of them' in the firs post, I meant releasing them to fellow hobbyists, and not anywhere else

They are cute when small but when grown bigger, their bioload in the tank will be

I moved mine to farm's pond and now they are happily swimming away and eating kangkong in there.

Haha I find their bioload already very high now! My previous adults now all inside school pond.

My son kept pestering me to get a pair for him...in the end i gave in and after a few mths i'm the one who took over the ownership of terrapins.
