Can CRS Survive in Low PH?
Hi bro, from my understanding, the optimal PH for CRS is between 6.2 to 6.8 and to display the best colour.
Anything higher than say 7.2 would not be too desirable. What if the water is much more acidic and resulted in PH of 6 and below? What is the PH level drops to 5 and below? Would this cause death to the CRS? Would breeding be possible at such a lower PH level? |

Anyone able to answer the questions? I know CRS should be able to survive lower than ph level 6 water but what are the side effects if any?

I am using Azoo shrimps soil with a bog wood in a 2 feet tank. Please see my setup in another thread:

For a new soil it is not unexpected for the ph to be low.
Anyway last time when I first started got a bro in this forum tell me Japanese keep shrimps in pH 4.5. Lucky I never listen to him. Maybe the bro told you pH6.5 having problems with his meter or solution? |
