Default Auntie say vamp. crabs no need water de

I just brought two v. crabs from auntie

after my set up was done.

So i ask auntie , need to have water

she say no need ..hee

back home , i placed both of them into my tank

they dun even want to get inside water.

only stay put on the land

they need to keep their body moist. how do they do it without water? i still learning about crab.elelelel

mine always go into the water to have a walk. or stay arnd damp area.
maybe no need alot but at least abit

Crabs breathe through gill chambers, without water they die... You can try not giving them water at all.

For Vampires, a small water container is enough, but if you have a few, it is better to provide a bigger tub of water for them.

Thirsty, will need to drink also. Guess all living things do that. Some more now weather so bad.

i have one third of the tank filled with water . when my vampire happy , they go inside to take a dip . haha .

shocking!!

morning woke up...

one of my crab died

three legs missing

i think was killed by the another one!!

any comments

This is common. The crab might not be killed by another crab. It is due to stress & simply drop dead or loss their legs.

From my experience you need to provide them water to keep them moist. They also need water to molt (I've got 2 successful molts and both inside water). Just make sure the ph of the water is not too low, they don't enjoy acidic water.

yep i did provide water for them...

funny things is its only few hours in my tank

and one up lorry so fast , the other one still doing well

I wonder is it too stress due to new environment
