Possible to mix ada + black quartz
Hi everyone, i was wondering. for substrate wise. cause it would be too expensive if i were to use ada for the whole 1 inch of substrate. so of i were to use black quartz as the bottom layer and then ada on top of it, will it cause any impact or what so ever to my shrimp or plant? thanks!

You can do it but in the end you can expect some of it to mix. Unless you do not touch the substrate at all I don't think you can avoid this.
Plants wise there should not be any problems. |

What is the dimension of your tank? I am not sure if it will affect the ability to maintain the PH at 6.5-6.6~ never try before. Many bros here who have tried before can share experience?

There would be no problems at all, in fact there are a couple of people who mix ada soil with other kinds of substrate just to get a higer substrate level for easy planting and prevent plants from getting uprooted easily.
