Chiller for 1 ft tank
Hi All,
Currently using a 1 ft tank for some plants. Juz want to find out if it is possible to use a chiller on the 1ft tank. Looking at cl85 chiller and if it is possible, which filter should i use to connect with the chiller? Provided that the flowrate is suitable for crs to survive in the tank. Any advice? Thanks in advance.. |

I have a CL280 works fine with eheim ECO for my small 1x1x1 tank.
If your tank is in office with air cond ON daytime then CL85 is not a bad idea otherwise consider a compressor type chiller. |

For any chillers, it is best driven by a cannister filter. Hailea has some small and suitable chillers for small tanks.

Is the flowrate of eheim eco sufficient to support CL280? How much is the electrical bill by using CL280 to chill your tank?

I measured using AMP meter when I bought it (about 12 months ago) ... estimated approx $12 a month and bill from SP looks quite ok . The chiller kick start once every hour for 15~20 mins. Room temperature ave 29C, desire water temperature 24C for a 1'x1'x1' tank. Cost per hour is 6.79¢ per hour according to info from recent Singapore Power webie base on a 300W appliance. Therefore max cost is $48.88 if compressor running non stop... u just minus out cost when it is idle. |
