Default behavior of shrimps....

hi all, i realised some strange behaviour from my shrimps today. the shrimps are normally quite tame, meaning they would scrimage for food along the gravel and plants all day.

but today, They seem to be chasing each other around, the ones being chased would be swimming all over, including to the surface. i'm really afraid that some will jump.

any idea what this means?

Wow, that's a very nice way to explain. For me, I would put it the lay man term...

"The males are h***y."

thanks for your help. unfortunately, one shrimp jumped to its death today.

but can anyone tell me more about the mating ritual? so far i've observed some of the shrimps being really aggressive, sort of like chasing everyone that gets near it.

what does it mean? i mean how can you mate when you're chasing everyone away?

What kind of shrimps?
Any unintentional water parameter changes or toxin add-in?

usually theres no reason for them to jump out unless the water parameters may be too distressing for them. best is you test yr water and maybe tell us the parameters. do u have any info on what wondergro is made up of ?

ya i will test them tonight. i can't tell you offhand what wondergro contains, but you can do a search at aq, there is a lot of info there.

but i still think my water level was too high that day while topping up, it was filled to the brim and i really mean to the brim. cos i haven't had any problem since.
