Default Ada soil

Hi bros,

was wondering how long it takes for the tank with ada amazonia soil to have 0 readings for ammonia, nitrite and nitrates.

I know it only takes about a week for ammonia and nitrites to be 0 but nitrates will still be relatively high.

I was wondering, for people with no biohome or plants, how does the tank convert the nitrates?

Thanks.

The nitrate can be easily over 50ppm for a new tank with ADAsoil.

Do 1 or 2 large water change to reduce the nitrate add plant to maintain nitrate low, 5ppm or so is easily acievable. With this nitrate level moss, and low demanding plant can grow well.

Get quick growing plants if want to maintain low nitrate.

Put some frogbits that will remove nitrate, moss is slow growing plant, the effect of removing nitrate is not as good as fast growing plant like frogbits.
