redcross Shrimp advice urgently needed!

I need advice from others who have experience with shrimps... I recently bought several Yamato shrimps but the moment they were put in my 2ft planted tank, they began to appear paralysed within half an hour... I quickly moved them into a holding tank with only mosses, and they recovered. I changed 30% of the water in my planted and put them back in 2 days later, and the same thing happened.

My planted has been around for several months and both the plants and fishes are fine in there. Can anyone advise me what could be wrong with my water parameters?

These are my readings for my water:
GH ppm: 60
KH ppm: 40
pH: 6.5
NO2: 0
NO3: 0

I dosed with the Lushgro Macro and Micro (less than half the recommended dosage) days earlier. Could that be a problem? Someone told me its because there is copper in my water, which kills invertebrates, is that possible? Is there anyone out there who have kept yamatos in your planted without problem? Pls advice me...

I thought its more an issue with planted's parameters. Anyway, mod, pls help move it if it is so. Thanks.

You have to acclimatise them very slowly. For some reason that happens to me too. I found that acclimatising them over an entire day helps. Use the drip method.

Sorry, cos i thought it's more toward the shrimp side.

By the way, during the acclimatise, you can also add in water from your planted tank bit by bit into your shrimps. For me, I'll pack them into plastic bag and dip the whole pack into the tank, after an hour or so then i add in water from my tank bit by bit.

Bro, a quick check will tell,
1- is your temp below 25? cos it need rather cold water, will be stun if water is at 26-27
2- is your bio load high? cos it will have an initial impact.

My tank of Yama, CS, Malayan is at 24 degree and it is breeding like FOC, my guppies are too.

Let me know if you are still keen on the guppies..cheers!
