didn't know that endi were so aggressive towards each other. I just came back from Las Vegas last week and brought back a couple of endis and ornates ( bichirs are not allowed in Hawaii) and the larger endi already killed the smaller 1. I have never seen anyone in Hawaii with an endi before (most have senegals) so you can understand my frustration when I saw the larger endi have the smaller endi in it's mouth. ended up feeding the dead endi to my tiger shovelnose,a $50 feeder

ouch, my condolences, i know how it feels to have a hard-to-get pet die on you!

but anyway, its true that endies are really fierce, one of them attempted to eat my tin foil barb which is way to big to swallow. Thankfully it survived and is recovering now...

geez...my condolences bro...

happened to mine too, my Endy & ornate tried to swallow my FF, heard a loud splash in the middle of the nite. woke & saw the FF struggling in the mouth of the big Endy... fortunately the FF recovered & still swimming around today.

i guess these bigger bichirs have an appetite for relatively sizeable tankmates.

can understand your frustration but its rather rude to pose "dammit" as a thread title. well, take it as a lesson learn, know the fish better before u buy to prevent such thing to happen. if u r new feel free to ask in this forum or ask the seller before hand. if the seller can keep his fish in the shop,he do know some basic for the fish.

i believe everyone is most willing to share their knowledge

so sorry. yup, i think bichirs will try eat anything they even think can fit in their mouth

nev let a bichir go hungry, when they are hunry, they try to eat the smaller ones. when they are full, then normally they are alright

If the endi is full and satisfied, it normally wun disturb any fish. I place 15 inch endies with 6 inchers b4. But since i feed everyday, they live in harmony.

I just fed them and an hour later it happend

wow 15" with 6" and nothing went wrong

that's to much of a risk for me bro. I guess because you guys can just go down to the lfs and pick up another 1. me on the other hand have to fly thousands of miles and smuggle them in
