how long have you been running the filter. if just started maybe there is some airlock. If after 1 day still got sound maybe take out the impellar to have a look, clean and put back try again.

have not try take out the motor casing before cos it seems like not meant to be taken out. Worry that after put everything back might leak.

Can you discuss the humming sounds better...? I am also using a Jebao canister, and the only time that it will give out noises is when the canister has air pockets inside... Priming out the air will solve the problem...
However, if it is an irritating sound, chances you have to replace yr canister... Eric |

Is the water flow strong...? I am thinking that the water might be running, but it might not be running at top rate... 815 does not have the priming button, is it...? Maybe try to open up the canister and fill the water right up to the brim, or even let it overflow slightly when you close the canister and on the canister again... This is to minimise the air inside the canister... I have opened up another canister before, but I didn't strip out the parts for the motor portion though... It does not look very friendly for stripping though... Eric |

Is it because the priming button is too low?... Try to pull the button up after u prime it.
