Default Brown stain on wall

Hi guru

I have 800L fgt outdoor with shelter and have added 3 (3inches) koi about 1.5months ago. Using SAFE and Stability. Feeding is once a day with 15 medium Hikari Wheat-Germ pellets.

Initially, there was green water and I have turned on UV and the water cleared up. It has been 2 weeks since I off the UV but the water starts to turn green/brown again. The wall has lot of brown stain.

What could be wrong and how to remediate them? Can albino pleco help? The reason the water is not mature yet?

thank

Can be cleared by an albino pleco, quite a common occurrence for outdoor tanks

hi Dragon

thank. I was running the pump and filter for more than 2 months without green/brown problem until koi were added. Can't really figure out the issue.

I was think was it the SAFE and Stability that were not added enough during water change? Can it be the food? BTW, does UV need to turn on continuously? I can see slight green water now.

From my knowledge it has to do with nitrates. Perhaps your tank had no livestock in it for the past 2 months so there was no nitrate in the water?

Nitrate is the product of the BB cycle. The most effective way to remove it is water change.

Number of reasons...filter not matured, not enough sunlight, nitrates ( change more water, feed less until balanced out). Leave UV on 24/7 until green wall algae established then perhaps you can turn it off every now and then but it should be on all the time try to achieve it's max results.
