WC = True spotted gar (Lepisosteus platyrhincus)
Indonesian CB gar = Florida gar (Lepisosteus oculatus) - Most common in LFS

However, I think Aquahobby brought in WC florida gars a few shipments ago

Yes bro.. To add on,
Aligator gar = Atractosteus spatula
Tropical gar = Atractosteus tropicus
Cuban gar = Atractosteus tristoechus
Short nose gar = Lepisosteus platostomus
Long nose gar = Lepisosteus osseus

Apparently, Cuban is the often considered the rarest gar. But it's a seasonal fish, i think it's season is towards the end of the year.. However, I feel short nose gar is harder to come by. I haven see a actual specimen before. Only seen pics, I think aquahobby even came in once before. Florida are often mistaken and sold for spotted gar. There is minimal difference in them. So if u really want a spotted gar. Best to get a WC specimen, price will be higher but it's worth it IMO.

Just sharing my 1cents, correct me if I'm wrong

Agreed.. Locally I have seen most of the gars in the flesh. The only one I have yet to see upfront is an axanthic florida

Beware of alligator gars. They grow very fast, and attack when hungry. IMO, not suitable for keeping in home aquariums. Best if u have ponds or huge fgts
