filter for 120gallon planted discus

i currently have a atman df-1300 ( 1500 L / hr )
what is a good filter to add on with the current filter ? was thinking of the model jebao ( 1200 L / hr ) .

also , my new tank will be coming next week.

is it alright if I

1: move 4 discus in a pail
2: drain the tank water
3: transfer the current ADA new amazonia to the new tank + 2 packet of ADA new amazonia
4: add in water to the new tank
5: transfer old filter to new tank + new filter
6: move the fish in

??
since the filter have already been running for 1 over years and the BB has set up its colony.

I hope you realize that ADA's New Amazonia contains ammonia, which will be released by your newly added substrates when u add in. May cause an ammonia spike or re-cycling of your tank nitrification if not careful. Depending on how fast your current filtration can deal with then new ammonia being released, you might wanna consider measuring the ammonia and nitrites levels in your new tank first before deciding to transfer your discus in.

i see.. but since the ph is below 7 and always maintain 6.5 , those ammonia will be in ammonium form and it wont harm the fish ? am i wrong ? please correct me if i do

because in the past , after adding in the soil , next 4 days i started to add in discus and survives till now

Not wrong that ammonium has less toxic or no toxic toward fish.

I believe it would be the best if you provided enough time for your new tank water to cycle that ensure the BB have sufficient time to establish.
