Shrimps vs salt??
Hi guys, i am keeping a few guppies in my tank and i found some fin damages with some of them. i want to add some salt to the tank to aid in the recovery, but im wondering if that will harm my yamatos in anyway?

What sort of fin damage? From nipping? Maintaining good water parameters should be sufficient to let them heal naturally.

from my understanding shrimps are definitely more sensitive to salt..
maybe you could get the injured fishes to another hospital tank for treatment? |

yep. what is what i am doing now. but after doing some research yamatos natural habitat ranges from fresh to brackish water. so am i right to say that generally shrimps are sensitive to salt but for yamato case it will be ok?

what kind of salt are you using? i hope its those marine type of salt, if so, its ok.
read up a bit on yamato or amano shrimps. it requires brackish to breed, so why would salt hurt them? i put my amano shrimps with hawaiian shrimps in brackish water before. The amanos are still fine. |
