Same mother but different colour?
After my mamas gave birth about a month ago, shrimplets are doing well now, some are already 1cm. however, one weird observation was that 95% of my shrimplets from the sakura mamas are orange but slightly red tinge and 5%(2 shrimplets) are colourless witha slight blue tinge. is that actually possible? or the colour just hasnt developed?

The males in your tank are cherry or sakura?
I believe the male also contribute to the colour of the shrimplets |

It's normal la. Even my wild coloured cherries produce reddish cherry shrimplets.

Even Fire Red shrimps will produce normal red cherry shrimp. Besides, at 1 month old, they may not have fully developed their colors.
The few colorless ones may be males, and may only develop light shades of red. Taking other shrimps as comparison. If you have both Flower Head CRS, it doesn't mean you will get 100% FH CRS. There may be a few that will turned out to be much lower grades (eg S or even A). Some hobbyist will go thru a process called, Culling. This is a process where lower grade shrimps are removed and perhaps sold off or moved to other tanks. |
