Is changing water a must?
Hi bros, i have been keeping CRS for coming to 2 yrs. Currently re-doing my tank so i am cycling the tank at the moment. Chatted with the uncle that mend the shop at yishun central, I bought my soil from there.. He told me that actually there is no need to change water for shrimp tank, just need to top up with de-chloride water and load it with bacterial growth solution to encourage bacterial grown.
Any opinion on this? |

Hi Bro, if sun change water how to lower down nitrate?
Unless tank itself have a lot of plant that will absorb the nitrate. I have read online that this is possible but not quite sure doable for Crs shrimp. I think different grade of Crs might be different. And, I am not quite sure whether is it related is that, if dun change water through out GH tend to increase, I have try before. Once water change GH goes down. That why I find a lot of shrimp keeper and breeder put mini lettuce, frogbits and othe floating plants including me aswell. Cheers. |

it depends on your school of thought. I think changing water helps with breeding and shedding of outer exoskeleton, since it mimics rain n stuff.
