I measured the pH twice, 1st time it showed 6.5 . I waited for about 1 hour and test it again, it become 7.

I am wondering if there's anything in my tank that is making my pH go up.. i dont understand..

Remove the black quartz sand, WC 20 % , not forgeting dechorine and neutralizes chloramines the new water. add in ph down, circulate water and test the result.

The water in my tank seems to have stabalize, water tested yesterday and this morning is between 6.5 to 7 ( The color seems to be between 6.5 and 7 as it is not the same color as either one of them )

Will continue to do this testing for about 1 week, hope the readings remains the same all the time

Have added my black neons inside, they seems to be doing well, feeding actively ~ ^^

Wondering have you measure the pH of your tap water ? In my opinion the tap pH can be from 7 to 9.0 depends on where you are. The pH should drop after few days without water change. If you want to adjust pH then I think you should also measure GH/KH, the higher the GH/KH the more hard the pH can be adjusted. Also not sure why you need to adjust the pH, I think more or less the fishes can adapt to your pH.

My water was at pH 9, i do not think most of the fish are able to survive at that kind of waters. Moreover, i was intending to keep tetras, rams and cories which would require pH below 7 at the very least hence was trying very hard to drop the pH. And no, the pH of my water did not drop by itself even after several days hence i had to resort to artificial means

the pH of my tap water is usually 7. But for that particular week, it went up to 9, i was very very shocked

I did not measure gH but measure more of pH. Luckily, the seachem powder that i bought also helps to lowers gH, now the gH in my tank is 4
