what is the actual cause of high nitrate ? he changed water weekly and only has 16 shrimps, and 1oto do you think it's overloaded ? i mean too many shrimps cause the high nitrate?

Have a look at the article.

Just get a breeding cage to put some hornwart in. They will helps to soak up nitrates. Those plants u have inside are slow grower, cant absorb alot of nitrate unless you have alot of them.

That's what I did to my fish tank at home. But must provide more light for them only. And also best to have a gentle flow of air in there to prevent mozi breeding.

Hi Bro BettaCloud, agreed with Bro Koji and Cheetf. I guess you have seen my 1.5 ft tank. What I did initially when all my plants just started growing, nitrite level is high, then I brought quite a few Hornwort in the Ah Pa farm in Pasir Ris Farmway, slowly when the nitrite level reduced, and my plants growing well, I removed some of the Hornwort, at the end, left with all the plants that I want, and the nitrite at near zero. light is also important.

Thanks all!! Im trying to get some frogbits and hornworts to bring the NO3 down. Will do a 10% wc later when i reach home.

A little update:
added frogbit for 2days, nitrate went down to 20ppm!! Previously was like dark orange to red.

Removed the dymax anti ammonia/nitrate/nitrite stones, replaced with hornworts, going all natural. Will do a nitrate check in 2-3days time.

Free frogbits from bro ilubit and hornworts from bro midniteguy. Thank you for your nice gesture!
