Thanks all for the interest! Apologies for the long wait and the disappointment. I still feel hesitant about discarding the eggs so gonna keep for a bit longer.
pity.. but now that u know that u have a pair.. means can try again Just need to add a ground area for them to lay their eggs. Saw my turtles doing the mating dance a few weeks ago. But nothing.. :S

Thats y researches when the collect the eggs the will mark the eggs with the marker to ensure the mark is always on the top.
Actually both eggs are found in water so possible both "drowned" though I don't know if that is possible...

Providing a land area will be a headache since I stay HDB and my tank is not big enough to place any form of land area beyond the glass platform built into the tank.

Cannot lah...and also the LFS no longer have such shipment liao. I was very lucky to get the 2nd turtle when I found it at an LFS that I happen to pass by. Nowadays I always check the turtle section of all the LFS I go just to see if I can spot them again.

Yes reptile egg will drown if placed in water also when moved from its original position like rolled over it will drown too.

Got this from google too to support my claim.

1. How to tell the top of a turtle egg. When a turtle embryo in an egg begins to develop it attaches to the top of the egg shell. If the turtle egg is turned, the embryo will most often die. Therefore, the tops of all turtle eggs should be marked with a felt tipped marker before they are moved. If the eggs are moved and turned without being marked first, there will be no way to tell the top of the eggs. In such cases we recommend leaving them in the positions they are in and hoping for the best.

Another is a form of a youtube vid, there is a part where it says when turtle's eggs are placed in water it will drown too.

Oh thanks for the video link! Nice video!

Yeah I just checked the web for more info and most info does point to the fact that eggs will drown if laid in water.

Last night I found a crack on one of the eggs which I think was caused by my frequent handling. I crack open the egg and this is what I see:

There was a pretty strong odor, something similar to the smell of salted eggs.

No sign of any embryo and it was purely yolk.

Oh well...

Didn't see anything beyond some milky substance on the yolk itself. I poked the yolk itself and it burst open with just yellow yolk and nothing else.
