Default Is it common for sakura shrimp change their shell?

Hi all.. Just got a batch of sakuras shrimp from a bro here.. den this morning i found abt 3 sets of shells lying ard? is there any problem or its common?

Oic.. gave me a scare.. and they actually eat their own molted shells? gd for calcium?

yes, they molt.
Usually, after they molt, they will eat some of the shell.

hehe.. ya after viewing thru the comments.. its a blessing to see them molting.. coz abit worried as i just introduce them to my tank last sat.. closely monitoring the temperature and see if there's any "casualties" as while bringing home the shrimps 1 matured shrimp up lorry..

They will molt as they grow....like us changing bigger size clothings as we grow....

So nothing to worry about...

It's actually a good thing to see exo-skeleton of shrimps. It means they are eating well, and growing bigger and have successfully molted. Breeding usually occur when molting happens.

So thats why i dont see those molted shells after a day or two? meaning my shrimps actually ate them for calcium?!

oic.. saw my 1st casualty when i got home from work.. btw i bought the mosura excel and shizhen.. so how do u guys feed the excel? break into small pieces or crash into powder? and can just add shizhen into the water or must add into tap water and use it for changing water?
