If you wanna clean the gravel, must do it regularly. Or else never do it.

So if you want gravel, maybe set up an undergravel filter would be good. The extra aeration will help in breaking down the waste and toxic gases will not get trapped within the gravel so easily.

Dear all,

I read about the undergravel and the popular view is that it will eventually clog?

Anyway, I am thinking of having a deeper gravel (say 2 inches) so that I can plant some rooted plants in my intended shrimp tank (for CRS). Can any one advice whether there is any plant to avoid for shrimps? I am thinking of getting Tiger lillies and perhaps APP.

Appreciate the advice.

Cheers
