Default My first shrimp setup..

hi all, after helping my gf set up a shrimp tank.. i also gian to set 1 up too.. got a 20cm cube tank for my set up.. with 2inch thick gex soil.. dolphin hf80 HOF.. and a small PL light.. plants is US Fissiden on dw.. and 2 plant that i dunno wat is it.. bought it cos i found it very cute.. anyone can help me id the plant?? intend to keep some cherry or sakuras..

After just add plants and soil and water..




After dust and dirt start to clear and settle..

hm... pic too small to see the moss properly to ID. Just a wild guess... maybe java fern? haha

my advise.... erm the tank is too small... not good for keeping shrimps. Get a bigger tank.

Those pet shop owners or lfs just dun give proper advise when they sell..... always just trying to push sales... resulting in many un necessary shrimp deaths.

Agreed, with bigger tank the water parameter will be more stable..

sakuras/cherries are good for starters to start off.

thanks for the advices.. but i'm just looking for a small that that would fit on my desk.. wound only keep very few shrimps and try to control the water paramaters by doing more frequent wc and all ba.. hopefully it would work out fine..

how to control water perimeter when u doing so much wc?

dun keep to many shirmps. my ideal for this tank is not more than 5. if u dun mind the sound, get a small air pump.... dun feed too much.
