Default Starting a paludarium

I'm planning on starting a paludarium in my room (airconditioned, switched on close to 10hrs/day)

Any experienced paludarium owners know if it will be an issue? temperature fluctuation etc wise.

Will the paludarium give off a strong damp stench?

Planning to keep crabs btw

Thanks!

Planning to keep purple vampire crabs Read from couple of other international forums that they can handle a wide range of temperature, from 60 fh (16 celcius) to 80++ fh (30 celcius)

Reading up the international forums gave me a brief preview bout what i'll be expecting, just want a local keeper's point of view

*Update* I just bought my new tank, lights, backdrop. Going to start planning how im gonna do up the tank

I think the smell wont be that strong as I used to keep a rainbow crab in a 1ft tank without a filter. You cant really smell the stench unless you had your face directly smelling the tank but what I suggest would be try to open your windows as well haha for better air circulation maybe just in day time?

Ah, i think vampire crabs shouldnt smell that bad then, considering the difference in size

By the way, if you want to minimize stenches, you might want to consider adding a filter system, like say adding an internal filter which has a small rainbar to spray water or if you are running a bigger tank, you can get a external canister with a rainbar =)
