From what I know is that when a female is about to moult, the male shrimps will swim in around the tank in an excitement state. Then I will see an empty shelf somewhere and the next thing I will see is a berried shrimp. In between the process, can see male body sticking to female body for a split second.
Not really sure how the male shrimps know that there is a female shrimp that is going to moult, but these are the stages that are observed everytime before a female berried. Don't think there is other way. Do u mean by other mean, like manually transferred the shrimp sperm and implant them into a female shrimp? |

but i only feed them the amount they can consume the same day.
will try to feed them less. seems like members here noticed the same thing as me, female shrimps only pregnant after molting.. still dont know the reason. but i think they release some hormone to attract males before molting. |

my guess?
after molting, the shrimps are weaker and just lie there for the taking. on normal days, the shrimps will jump away when another shrimp lands on their back. In addition to probably the hormones relased into the water when the female shrimp molt? |
