Default What media do you put in your cannister filter for your CRS?

I suppose it would be best to put biohome plus right? Some would have Ceramic Ring, Bioball, Oyster, Charcoal, Ammonia Rock, etc.

I got advice is best you put all Biohome Plus as is once of the best. For Charcoal and Ammonia Rocks, you got to get it change every month or so right otherwise instead of absorbing, it would release back the toxic into the water poisoning your livestock when it is saturated right?

For myself, i just took out the Charcoal and Ammonia Rocks leaving only the following:

1) Big Ceramic Ring

2) Biohome Plus 300g

3) Bateria Rio 9000 (If i didn't remember the name correctly) 1kg

(Suppose to be as good as Biohome Plus but is new and much cheaper, not sure anyone tried that and do you have any comments? I got it from Colourful as not many place selling. Price is S$20/pack of 1kg)

Any comments would be most welcome. Cheers

I used Eheim medias which came together with my eheim 2026 canister.

Previously was using Biohome plus for Eheim 2211. Not bad i would say.

Never tried others though.

You heard from who has tested it to be as good as Biohome plus when it is new?

What are the benefits of the medias you mentioned there (Ceramic Ring, Bioball, Oyster, Charcoal, Ammonia Rock)? What are the effects on water perimeters?

You need to know what shrimps you intend to keep and the pH range the shrimps are comfortable in.

LFS are running a business. Durian sellers will say their durians are good. If it's something new, take their words with a pinch of salt.

One more thing.... please go read up the sticky (top of this sub-forum) where a lot of shrimp FAQs are found.
