Default new to shrimp keeping

hi all, recently cleared my tanks of tetras and other fishes, now left with a SAE and whiptail catfish. am thinking of switching to keeping shrimps for a change.. have read that keeping fishes with shrimps is not advisable but actually had alot of success keeping malayans in my previous setup full of fishes.. only realised the huge success when i was doing a 100% water change..so many shrimps and shrimplets.. but now am trying to keep cherries without relying on luck to have success..so was wondering.. wat sort of fishes would be safe..or at least safer to have with them? was considering rams, a betta or something with character as a main fish.. just a pic of my recent setup..the plants are still growing and waiting for the mosses at the back to mature..can;t see them in this pic need advice..and shud i get more moss now to help create more hiding spaces for the shrimps instead of waiting for the small rock of moss i have now to spread slowly?

Betta is definitely a NO NO for shrimp community. Betta is a fierce fish, I suggest you consider otto and have your shrimps surrounded by a few of favorite plants. One of my nana recently bloomed. and it is a joy to watch only shrimps and flora in a clean tank without casualty. Too many fishes also increase the protein and cloud the water

Me go shrimp shopping now. Already kena shrimp poison deep deep because of the bros here

Will update my new finds later

Guess not much safe fish other then Otto or maybe u can try endler(wild guppy) and other very small fishes. Most importantly, get more plants. Your tank set up looks fine enough.

nice setup u have there bro... if u intend to have fish in ur tank u can consider tetras as i have it my shrimp tank can look up my thread and see...
but betta is a strictly no no as u can see it's mouth is kinda big and ur shrimps will become food for them
