Water pH comparison
Hi,
I was doing some testing of the different water sources around my house and came up with the following readings : Tap water = ~pH8.0 Distilled water = ~pH6.2 So my question is since CRS prefers slightly acidic water, would it be preferable to use distilled water (DI) to set up a CRS tank, assuming I don't have issues getting supply of distilled water ? I know DI water would be lacking in minerals, but I was planning to dose Mosura Mineral Plus anyway, so think the lack of minerals in DI water is not an issue ? Any bros can share their thoughts ? |

Hmm.. interesting. I've always thought distilled water, because it doesn't have anything dissolved in it is pH neutral.
I would think its preferable to tap water, especially since you're planning to use Mosura Mineral Plus. I guess the only disadvantage is the cost |

I understand tt distilled water do not have GH in their system.
So, like Aria said, unless ur using mosua mineral plus to top up the GH absent in distilled water, its not advisable to use distilled water. |

That's an interesting question Could it be that the source of our water is defferent depending on which part of Singapore we live and therefore the amount of dissolved minerals differ as well? |
