Water Pressure
Wld like to share this experience w bros out there. I have been having "problems" w one of my red.
He is tagged May 08 but is now only abt 11 inches. Not really stunted but he is not v active. Always choose to stay at the top and in a corner of the tank. He has tank mates like endy, 5 SD and 1 IT. I was really at my wits end. He was so sian to watch. No action. I changed water, and change water and changed water (serious, thought it was water problem) added ketapa leaves, removed my oyster shell (some suspected it could be because the water was high in PH). Did everything possible. The fish seldom swim, seldom eat. He ate like 1 time in 5 days. It was totally fustrating. I hated the Aro. Had 2 minds to exchange for a small RTG. Anyway, to cut the long story short, I reduce the water level from 2 ft to slightly less than 1 feet. The result was astonishing. He is now chasing the tiger everywhere. Swimming all over the tank. Up, down, left and right. I am sooooooo happy. Just hope he will start eating mp and bf again. But at least it's a first step. Hope this post can help other fustrated bros put there. |

Staying one corner most of the time and swimming ard and playing w his tank mates is not a better thing? If he thought the top level was his territory, he shld have been swimming ard, not parked one corner. Anyway, I'm sure he is much happier now.

Small lah, only 4 x 2 x 2. That's y I never thought it could be the water pressure. This was the last thing I thought wld b responsible for my aros weird behaviour. That's the reson for me starting this thread to share this info. Hope someone benefits from it. Cheers.
