redcross Help on Skimmer

I have a Redsea Berlin Venturi Skimmer. Recently, notice that it has a lot of foam (it would over spill out of the tiny hole on the holding container and sometime it overflow out of the skimmer) and the skimmate is very watery.

I have tried to close the air valve to the minimum, but the result is still the same.

Can anyone with the similar skimmer, pls tell me how to tune it to have more concentrated skimmate and lesser foam?

Thanks.

Try having the water level in your skimmer just below the neck to the collection cup and adjust your venturi accordingly.

Hi Bro flame angel, saw the thread, my simmate is the same as yours, but I am looking on how to tune it to be thicker (less watery).

I used to had thick skimmate, but suddenly I lost it. Dun know what happened?

Thick skimmat can be achieved by adjusting the water level lower.

Hi Bro Flame angel, may I know what do you mean by adjusting the water level lower?

My Skimmer is in my sump, as stated in the manual the water level must not raised above the water outlet of the skimmer. I have done so, therefore the water level is only half height of my skimmer. Is this low enough?

Thanks for replying.

Appreciate all expert to advice. Your advice is the greatest than manual can teach.

The manual is only a guideline , u can adjust to difference water level & c what it gives u, & fine tune from there. If not u might as well upgrade to a bigger pump.
