Bought my kids 2 ranchu, Need help urgent..
Hi, im new to ranchu keeping, bought 2 low budget 2-3" ranchu for my kids at c328 in a 1.5ft tank, after 2 weeks, yesterday seems like they just spawn eggs.. some on the bottom of the tank some on my plants.. some were transparent, some were transparent with a white dot, while some are white.
i have a canister filter 106gph running that 1.5ft tank.. I googled and they stated to took out the parents, So what should i do next? pls guide me how to spawn them and grow them big? |

Add some methylene blue...basic guideline light blue like the sky blue...this is to protect the eggs from fungus. Airstones....keep on high till tomorrow morning....this is to keep water fresh and once hatch try reduce air bubbles to low...in our normal room temperature the eggs should hatch in 2.5 to 3 days. Once hatched you got to cultivate brine shrimp to start feeding them when fries start free swimming...fries start free swiiming after 24 hours. If you are staying up north..I can spare you some already decapped brine shrimp eggs and teach you how to hatch them. After one week, the fries can be moved to another basin and the adult fishes move back to tank. Hope this help and good to see you introduce your kids to some fish breeding activities...enjoy!! |

Some transparent eggs have a black string inside it. while some eggs turned from transparent to white. Lets see if tmr or the day after will it hatch.. |

Congrats and yes it is exciting....I still get excited with every new spawn.
Please lower the airstones to just bubbling without creating much current. Start hatching just a small amout of bbs as the fried don't really need much. Welcome to the goldfish breeding journey. |
