My first planted tank

Hi,

My 2nd tank & its a planted one. I had to go through a lot of research for this, cause I did not want any CO2 or even lights.

Tank size: 2 foot (15 gallon)
Livestock: Neon Tetra, Celestial Pearl Danio, Albino Cory, Khuli Loach & Yamato
Plants: Taiwan Moss, Java Moss, Java Fern, Watersprite & Hornwort

Any comments or advice?

It's good looking, but I am curious, u said u did research, so many plants together won't be dying from lack of CO2?

Thanks. I looked for plants that are slow growing. The mosses & java fern are doing fine. I had to trim them like 2-3 weeks ago. The hornwort and watersprite are also doing well. I had plants that died on me though. My livestock is moderately well-stocked. I guess the fish provide the CO2 required.

I guess I also followed a bit of the Diana Walstad method. I feed the fish a bit liberally and I guess the fish and the plants feed each other.

Pardon me but to my knowledge i thought light is essential for plants maybe I got my info wrong after all Haha~!

No light mean means no additional lamps/bulbs etc. They are just on a "natural" diet of ambient sunlight.
(It can be direct, but I worry that the water will be too hot, so my curtains are usually drawn)

How are the plants doing now...kinda curious,no light,no co2,no fan,no chiller very low tech set up ...can survive

algae problem?

looks very promising, but with light definitely look better

So far my the plants are growing well. I don't see any algae problems. I got ottos inside and they seem to be managing it. I guess the plants take the nutrients from the fish waste well and it helps that it's beside a window without direct sunlight.
