Hi, I'm new to the hobby. How often do I have to do a water change every week?

I'm planning to purchase a LumiQ tank to house my shrimps. I will be following your guide of products that you are using to start off. Any tips and reccomendations?

I do mine once a week with aged & dechlorinated water. Firstly, it is too small and I find it rather overpriced by many folds. Get a GEX glassterior tank bro, any size, up to you. Think of the filtration etc. What shrimps you planning to keep?

I'm planning to try out Sakura first.

The other breeds are too expensive. I don't want to jump into things and waste too much money.

I like the LumiQ tank. Nice lighting and will work as a decor. Are there any other tanks that is like LumiQ? One that is known for their good filtration?

I'm currently keeping a mix of cherry/yellow/sakura shrimps in my comp tank. They seem to die off alot. But recently, there were a number of small shrimplets that pop out. I'm very interested in breeding them as I enjoy seeing my tanks with a few generations. I usually go for shrimps that already have eggs in them.

I don't plan to get a chiller as well. What are the various breeds that I can also consider?

Cherry and Sakura only?

Are there more?

Hi washy, i decided not to get a chiller. so my breeds are limited.

Are you able to reccomend the basic necessities for a shrimp tank and brands?
Did you purchase your GEX tank from clementi mrs goh? I will be heading down tomorrow to check the prices out and to do some budgeting.

Hmmmm.. Don't think i'm in the right position to advice bro as I've never kept other species before. However, I have to say that the other species of shrimps are 'easier' to keep given the low price tag. There's quite a variety out there! You can even read up on Sulawesi shrimps

I did get from C328 Mrs Toh (Mrs Goh is the ladyboss of DFI ). Mine is a Glassterior Slim 600, around 2ft in length but the width is narrower and height is lower as compared to a regular 2ft tank you see around. Hope this helps

Hi washy,

i'm planning to get around the same tank as yours. I saw a lumiq for 178. but considering i can actually get a whole set up for less than that amount, maybe even include a canister filter for a 2 ft tank.

I hope a whole set up will cost less than 200

My tank is $45. Think about what shrimps you want to keep first bro, that should steer you in the right direction of what you would need
