Dont need US fissidens. keep it simple. I only have java moss in my tank and my shrimps are breeding mad.

I'm quite cheapskate so I really use minimum mineral plus, i think silane is right, i add too little liao... but then again, my tank over here isnt CRS, its deep blue orange eye tigers + cherries. And my pH is 7. (coz over here theres no such thing as GeX or ADA) and he said high pH low GH. lols

But yup, i'm keeping my shrimps on old style "no special power" gravel :P no fancy stuff.

I'm a bit worried tho, coz apparently deep blue tigers are as easy to kill as sss mosuras, coz tigers dun breed true, and the deep blue orange eye gene pool is really REALLY small. o well, will see how it goes.

I think temperature and ph is key. I did not use expensive fissiden or power gravel and they breed well

what has fissiden got to do with breeding? people keep fissiden only coz it looks nice and is shrimp safe.

and very very few things in this world are shrimp safe ^^

i think most plants are shrimp safe if they do not affect PH/GH/KH!
so i would say actually to deem plants unsafe to shrimp is when it has unknown chemical on it! that is why we quarantine out plants b4 adding it to your shrimp tank! anw bro shrimptastic where are you located????

Hi Shrimptastic, I've changed my HC to Java Moss is it ok? Because I think due to low light the HC starts to die. BTW UK is nice! You studying or working over there?
