the tell tale sign of a ST is to look at the final curve bar on the tail bone.. it has to be neat and smooth curve along the curve... (if u get what i am trying to say). also, when ST is unstable or being in the scare mode, the colour in unstable state will be different from those of IT. those who keep IT shd know how IT looks like when unstable.. with patches of tones over the body... as for ST, this will not happen...

due some breeding, 3 bar IT surfaced in the market 2 years back... some seller even tried to make some quick bucks by saying it is a ST.

dun be misled by the thai people, very minimum of them know the differences. I will be at the weekend market on next sunday. I will check it out and let u guys know.

there is no such naming of tiger as cambodia tiger... just because it is caught from Cambodia... but people have mistakenly take it as cambodian tiger for quite some time. in actual fact, Cambodian tiger and Siamese tiger is the same breed. however, the one in the picture is not a CT or ST.. it is purely a IT.

in simple terms, there is only Siamese tiger, Northern thailand Tiger, American Tiger, New Guine Tiger (how to spell) and Indo tiger.

market shortage of ST is also due to excessive proaching of the ST from the wilds and also a lot of them are in Vietnam aquarium now... no idea why are they keeping so much of them in captive. could be waiting for them to breed.

Agreed with u is a IT.

People labelled as CT to sell can sell much higher price than 3 bar IT. Imagine 50$ IT vs $400 CT, if I never remember wrongly the price. Marketing works....

STs have got slightly more slanted middle bar
Thanks but I had never seen a tank of ITs with every piece being stable, nice lemon yellow with no stress sign. If there is, please let me know and I would like to have them. The rest on bars , etc are subjective as we can only use as a guild. Sometime in human, brothers and sisters also don't look exactly alike.

Stir the tank with a net, observe for 15 mins and u will know how they look when unstable.

Also if you keep tigers long enough, u will realize IT dorsal fins are generally longer, narrower and more extended than STs.

My humble observation only
I keep both ITs and STs for long time. The peak time I have 15 pcs of STs but still can't tell the difference.

to add on my personal view IT has long narrow fan tail as compare to ST, where its fan tail is short but wide at the end
