Woo Hoo! Looking good bro.
Another with a nice set up seems like the shrimp community is coming to live. All the best bro! Am looking forward to learn how you do the mesh partition part. Update with some pics can? I want to learn lol. And love the DW with the plants tied to them on the left most tank. |

Bro, all 3 sections has different water level. This will force water to be pushed from the higher section to the lower one, from the gap below. Don't forget, there will be some poo and nitrogen (hope i don't get it wrong) built up over time, but this will constantly be pushed into the next section.
May be too late to suggest, since your tank is running already. Why not get those L shape elbow from LFS and use as your 'balancing' drainage? Two pieces of different size, connect together, and the opening secured with socking. This will allow the water to move between sections via the 'drain' instead of forced from the bottom. globalcookie, TS did mentioned that he will be using fine wire mesh on top of his divider, that will allow the water lvl to balance out without forcing flow through the gravel.

Yep, I saw that. Unless e fine wire mesh is so fine that shrimplets can't get thru, else it will defeat the purpose. I have not seen any fine wire mesh to be able to tell if shrimplets can go thru.
What I am doing now is, I use those L Joint (elbow) and connect, using double layer stocking at the connection point (in case one tears). The water was gashing thru to 1 section more than the other, but e water level is balance. I will start a thread soon. Just done e setup. |
