What's the recommended flow rate for bichir? I've got 2 juveniles growing out in a 1.5ft tank and they dirty the water insanely quickly. As it is, I've been doing at least 50% WC every other day and the water is still dirty.

The Senegalus is growing a lot faster than the Delhezi due to his/her voracious appetite! If this goes on, I'm going to have to sell it off like really soon. Before my Delhezi becomes a food target.

Been going around the island looking for some nice juvenile Delhezi around during 4" long and realised many LFS have them in stock but prices vary quite a bit. Different gradings exist for the bichir and I wonder what are the different variants around for Delhezi and how are they usually differentiated from each other.

There are just different grades of dels. Prices varies from $8 to as ex as $350 depending on the strips on the body and the body shape. However it boil down to u buy what u like.

Of course. Just wondering about actual grading systems for delhezi in particular. Thus far, the best ones I've seen commercially are from AquaOne. Their Tigers seem to be of better quality than others I've seen.

I understand the stripes. As in generally what is considered higher grade.. But what's considered to be optimal body shape?

Good to know that u find aquaone dels nicest. I sold him a batch of my premium grade dels cheap after finding too troublesome to sell online. U just have to see more, buy more and keep longer to learn. Maybe u can share what u know about strips? I interested to know what u know.

Some dels u dun see its deform body shape when small, but as it grow bigger, u will see a dent on the body or deform shape. It takes experience to see. I had encountered a few and keeping 1 now.

Anyway there are more experience ppl out there. Hope they share too.
