Axolotls are amphibians and therefore permeable skins. This makes them particularly sensitive to water quality, which is probably part of the issue (I take that the transportation water was insufficient to completely fill the tank).

And yes, you clearly are rather clueless about taking care of an axolotl.
Have you asked ts about his tank size before throwback?

axolotl are known to live in small containers. If its a small 4inch - 6inch axolotl, they just need a tupperware. And usually lfs who sells them have almost 2-3litres of water in the bag with axolotl, likely to fill the whole small tank.

IK2, i think TS is not that dumb to pour 2litres of qater in an empty 30gallon tank with the water level only at axolotl feet.

TS please advise the tank u used and is it already overturned in the bag before pouring out.

TS, no worries. I understand how you feel.
Some farms they sell sick petz and fail to mention to buyer.
If the tanks is a small pladtic tank, the axolotl is fully submerge?

Nxt time if you get a product that behaving weirdly, dun open the bag and return them as it is.. even if they die, let them die in the bag untouched

TS,

I am pondering..........

U mentioned that ur previous Axolts bred under your care of 3 to 4 years am I right ?

If that case, it's show that u have certain substances and knowledge in keeping Axolts.

And why does this thread come about ?

Sifus, please correct me if I am wrong, by lowering the temperature to ard 5 to 10 degree, the Axolts are able to heal/cure themselves.

Am i right ?

I don't understand how you can pretend to know something that you clearly don't. Regarding metamorphosis, a quick google already shows that you have read squat. I quote, "axolotls do not generally metamorphose naturally, but occasionally one breaks the rules."

No one is accusing the TS for being dumb, no one is dumb either for not attempting to fulfill the criteria of not taking care of pets properly, that's a personal choice which says a lot about you.

The guidelines for an axolotl are easily understood. 20 gallons for two, temperatures of 14-20. Anything mentioned otherwise ships be treated with discretion and the onus is on you to justify it. I'm sorry but your small container is enough will not do. You don't actually know anything.

I do agree however that the axolotl sold was ill. Nonetheless it goes to say you weren't previously aware that refrigeration is a common practice in improving the axolotls ability to regenerate.

The axo had all its limbs then so I didn't know it was sick, until I brought it back as they put it in a small container with little water
